The Burmarsh Open Canoe Plans
There are only two boats available in this design. The 13' version below and also a a tiny little 7' version which is more of a garden play boat but will take an adult on the water!

A simple open canoe designed for a for a solo paddle but also able to take 2 adults and some gear for day trip or weekend camp etc or perhaps a day on the water with the kids.
Built in either 6mm plywood and requires between 30 and 40 hours to complete.
It goes together easily and quite quickly. Once completed, it looks good and performs well on the water too. Has built in buoyancy fore and aft that can be fitted with drain plugs or small hatches to enable storage of valuables etc.
Designed with seating positions fore and aft.
The basic build is based on at least 4 sheets of 6mm Plywood (Good exterior grade or better), two 4.5m lengths of 12mm x 20mm timber, 1 x 20mm x 40mm x 1m timber (all soft or hardwood), 3kg/ltr Epoxy Pack plus fillet additive and Fibreglass Tape.

This little boat was designed for and built by a group of teenagers at a school in Herts.
They wanted a simple boat that was easy to build and that they could have a fun day on the water with. The Burmarsh 7 is what I came up with.Although when I first looked at this design it was as a garden planter for a pub and a play boat, I found it would work on the water and even carry my weight (17st) albeit a bit low in the water.
If built for youngsters it should only be used under close supervision, with proper buoyancy aids worn on calm water.
